Dr. Jenny Schiebert, Veterinarian
After graduating magna cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with a
Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Schiebert earned her Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine from the University of California at Davis. Dr. Schiebert worked
as an associate veterinarian in private practice before deciding to fulfill
her lifelong dream and open her own hospital.
In April 1997, Dr. Schiebert became the chief of staff and owner of Shadowridge
Veterinary Hospital, transforming the 1800 square foot clinic into a state
of the art full service veterinary hospital. In May 1999, Dr. Schiebert expanded
to create the unique Creature Comforts Pet Hotel, the first full service
luxury cage free pet hotel in San Diego County.
Dr Schiebert expanded the practice once again in 2003, moving the practice
across the street to a 3600 square foot building designed to accommodate
all the state of the art equipment and special needs of the ever growing
practice.
Dr. Schiebert is currently the elected President of the San Diego County
Veterinary Medical Association. She helps organize numerous continuing education
conferences throughout the year for local veterinarians and strives to stay
current with the latest advances in veterinary medicine & treatments.
When not treating patients or consulting with clients on the phone, Dr. Schiebert
spends her spare time with her husband Gene and their two daughters, Allyse
and Jessica. Their "family" of pets includes 2 rescue Greyhounds, "Allegra" and "Scully",
and an exuberant Chocolate Lab named "Calypso", who can be seen daily at
the office.
In addition, two cats, "Abby" & "Harley", help to keep the bed warm at
night. Together, Gene and Jenny enjoy watching movies, riding mountain bikes,
scuba diving and water skiing!

Dr. Elizabeth Gibbs, Veterinarian
Born and raised in San Diego County, Dr. Elizabeth Gibbs is thrilled to be
back in North County and practicing state of the art medicine at Shadowridge
Veterinary Hospital.
After earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science from UC Davis,
Dr. Gibbs went on to graduate with honors from Ross University, where she
earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She then spent a year in clinical
training at the University of Illinois before moving to Lake Havasu, Arizona.
In Lake Havasu, she treated dogs, cats, ferrets and horses alike in a multi-doctor
mixed animal practice before she got home sick for San Diego.
Returning to San Diego in August of 2004, Dr. Gibbs worked as a relief doctor
for many area veterinarians, including Dr. Schiebert, filling in for doctors
when they needed time off or were on vacation. In addition, she provided
overnight emergency care at the local emergency clinic, Animal Urgent Care
in Escondido. She accepted the duties of Director of Veterinary Services
at Escondido Humane Society this past year as a natural extension of her
love of rescue work and homeless animals. Even though she is now a full time
associate at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital, she continues her long time
work with several rescue groups specializing in yorkies and small geriatric
dogs.
Dr. Gibbs lives in Escondido where she is fixing up her home and taking care
of her 6 dogs (Casey, Marvin, Squishy, Chachie, Pappy and Foster), 4 cats
(Sophie, Harry, Potter and Big Boy), and 6 horses (Burt, Gwen, George, Miguel,
Juan and Summer). * One of the hazards of rescue work and veterinary work
!
In what little free time she has, Dr. Gibbs is looking forward to returning
to her favorite past-time, Competitive Horseback Riding.

Frances, Pet Hotel Administrator
If your pet has stayed at Creature Comforts Pet Hotel, then they have already
been pampered by Frances. She knows every pet by name and how they liked
to be rubbed when petted in the morning. If it is your first time here, she
will help answer your questions, direct you to the front desk or give you
a tour of the facility. Frances is Dr. Schiebert's Mother-In-Law and joined
our team after we finally convinced her to relocate from Sacramento and put
her unique talents to work at Shadowridge.
Frances makes everyone and every pet feel at home - whether it be in the
reception area or in the hotel! She is often called to the treatment area
for her special way of calming nervous patients. She helps them hold still
for everything from nail trims to baths to ultrasounds. (Frances has discovered
a special way to massage a pets back feet that almost puts them to sleep.)
Frances loves animals and it shows! When not doting over the patients at
Shadowridge and Creature Comforts Pet Hotel, Frances is at home with her
husband Rene, taking care of their newly adopted Greyhound "Haiku", their
2 cats, "Edsel" and "Sasha", and their 2 birds.

Barbara, Pet Hotel Manager
Every pet staying with us at Creature Comforts Pet Hotel is fortunate to
have Barbara looking after them. Although she like to be called a "pet nanny",
Barbara is indeed an experienced caretaker in her own right.
She originally joined our team looking for a "fun job" after years of office
work. She quickly fell in love with the pets and routinely recognizes repeat
visitors by sight alone. She has a desire to learn as much as she can about
pet care, enrolling in ROP veterinary assistant courses, attending pet care
expos, grooming seminars, nutrition classes and online veterinary assisting
classes. She is currently working on her certification through the American
Boarding Kennel Association (ABKA).
With all this experience, Barbara has detected many illnesses in pets during
their stay that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. Her attention to detail
also helped to catch a bloat (or GDV) in a Great Dane that was boarding before
it became life threatening.
Her primary concern is always the pets care and well-being. She likes to
take care of the pets at Shadowridge because our smaller size allows her
the opportunity to offer individualized care for each pet.
"I would never want to work in a large kennel or boarding facility where
volume is the primary concern and all the pets are just numbers," says Barbara. "At
Creature Comforts, I get to know each pet and can recognize early on when
their behavior is a little off from past stays. It makes me feel good to
help pets and make them feel at home while their parents are away."
